Loopy Lisa is Lisa Lane (nee Hodgson), who produces her extensive and unique range of handmade fudge in County Durham.
Lisa began making fudge for her friends and family while still at university and went on to launch her own fudge business in 2004, at the suggestion of a shop keeper who knew Lisa made fudge and thought it would be a great addition to their range. Lisa started out by making the fudge in her kitchen at home in Loop Lane, Butterknowle, County Durham, hence the reason for the name Loopy Lisa although most people think the name stems from Lisa's own personality! A commercial kitchen followed for 14 years, before a return home during the COVID pandemic, now in the hamlet of Burnthouses.
Along the way, Lisa learned to temper chocolate and bow also offers a range of hand tempered Belgian chocolate goodies too!
How do we come up with our flavours?
We are only limited by our imagination and the availability of ingredients - we only use the real thing!
So if we can get it, we will try making fudge with it. If you have any ideas, drop us a line - if we think it sounds good, we'll make it!!!
Did You Know....
..All our fudge is traditionally hand made in small batches of 1.2 - 1.5kg. No machinery is used, arm power is the name of the game.
That way we always get it just right!
